Sarees distributed to 17,000 devotees at Kateel Temple

Mangaluru: On account of Lalitha Panchami, sarees were distributed to as many as 17,000 women devotees at the Sri Durga Parameshwari Temple at Kateel on October 6, Thursday. Lalitha Panchami is one of the auspicious days during the Navaratri Mahotsav of the Kshetra.

There was a heavy rush of devotees who had queued up outside the temple premises to receive the saree given as an offering. At one time even chaos prevailed when a couple of devotees fell on the road due to heavy rush.

A Chandika Havana was also offered to the Goddess as part of the celebrations. As many as 35,000 devotees received Anna Prasadam in the temple during the day.
