Karkala: The school children from Tumkur miraculously escaped with minor injuries after their bus rammed into an auto rickshaw and then hit a roadside tree at Kukkundoor here late evening on Friday.
The accident took place at curve in the road at Nelligudde between Kukkundoor and Jarkala. A group of school children from Tumkur District were on their way to Dharmasthala. 65 students and 6 teachers on tour were travelling from Sri Maramma Devara Rurual High School, Doddarampura of Tumkur district.
After visiting Udupi temple they were travelling to Dharmasthala. After visiting Murdeshwar and were on their way to Dharmasthala via Karkala. When the bus reached near to Kukkundoor near Karkala, the bus driver lost control over the vehicle and hit the auto which was moving on the side of the road. Bus driver Mohsin (27) who sustained serious injuries has been taken to KMC Hospital, Manipal.
