Udupi: A 75-year-old man slit his throat with a knife and breathed his last on Thursday. Valerian Bennett Ammanna (75), resident of Municipal colony, Bunts Hostel, Badagabettu was the deceased.
He was suffering from cancer and was frustrated with his chronic ailment. Overtaken by frustration, he is said to have slit his throat with a knife at about 11 am on Thursday.
He was admitted into hospital in serious condition, and by 1 pm, lost his battle for life. A case of unnatural death about this case stands filed in the town police station.
