Udupi: Sri Laxmivarateertha Swamiji, head of Shiroor Math, passed away on Thursday . He took ill and was admitted to KMC Hospital, Manipal on Wednesday.
As per reports late night, he was in the intensive care unit (ICU) and his condition was said to be critical. However later news came to know that he was becoming better. But the news in the morning has shokced his fans.
Shiroor Swamiji was in controversy since few years. Known for his direct and straight forward nature, he had got into bad books of other Astha Mutt Swamiji.
Shiroor Swamiji had also made a press meet and warned going to court against the idol issue. From past few days, he was suffering and is said to be felt very depressed with all the developments.
