Shodhan Rai bags gold medal at INBA Natural World Cup

Mangaluru: Shodhan Rai, a well-known bodybuilder from the city won a gold medal in Open Men’s Bodybuilding, Junior Masters category at Natural World Cup 2017 in Los Angeles, USA.

Shodhan Rai will also represent India in the Natural Olympia 2017 taking place on November 10 in Las Vegas, USA.

Shodhan is a celebrity trainer and fitness consultant in Bengaluru. He is originally from Amblamogar near Thokottu.

INBA (International Natural Bodybuilding Organisation) from USA which is WADA (World Anti Doping Association) tested, organized the contest. Before the event, every participant undergoes a doping test and after getting the clearance certificate from the testing agency, participants can enter the ramp for competition.

As many as 400 athletes from around 20 countries participated in the two-day event.

Shodhan was previously conferred Ekalavya Award by the government of Karnataka for his extraordinary achievements in bodybuilding.

Last month, Shodhan had won Mr Universe-Natural contest held in Auckland, New Zealand.

Shodhan is the son of late J N Rai, who was a bodybuilder. He is a five-time ‘most muscular man of Karnataka’. His mother is Maya J Rai.
