Six of family injured in accident

Karkala: Six persons belonging to a single family, who were travelling in a car,were injured after the car they were travelling in was hit by a bus on the evening of Monday August 15.

The accident occurred opposite Doopadakatte Ganapati temple at Nitte in the taluk. It is said that the car was trying to overtake an auto rickshaw. In the confusion, it hit the auto rickshaw first, before hitting the bus coming from opposite direction.

The passengers of the car were from Janthra near Balmannu in the taluk. The nature of injuries of two boys from the family is said to of critical nature. The passengers were taken to Manipal for treatment after providing initial treatment here.
