Mangaluru: Congress President Sonia Gandhi met senior Congress leader B Janardhana Poojary in New Delhi and has asked him not to speak against the Congress Government in the state in public. Sonia also told Poojary that he was free to express his views in party forums and also with the leadership and high command privately.

Janardhana Poojary has of late been vigorously attacking Chief Minister Siddaramaiah as well as the state government much to the ire of several leaders. Poojary who used to earlier hold press meets at the party office, had later shifted venue to the Press Club where he held almost no holds barred press meets.

The party leadership at the Centre has reportedly apprised Poojary that his negative comments would prove detrimental to the party in the upcoming assembly elections.
