Speeding bus kills church priest

Kundapur: In a tragic incident, a bus hit a priest who was crossing the road in his motor bike. The incident happened near the new bus stand at Byndoor late night on Monday. The person who was killed in this accident has been identified as priest of Mudoor church at Byndoor, Fr Abraham Kallapat.

A student of St Thomas College had fallen sick and was admitted into the community health centre at Byndoor. Fr Abraham wanted to bring another student to keep the sick student company. When he was crossing national highway 66 for this purpose, a private bus that was moving to Belagavi from the direction of Mangaluru, hit him. Fr Abraham suffered serious injuries and died on way to hospital.

The mortal remains of the priest have been kept in the mortuary of the government hospital here. The priest was from Wayanad in Kerala. Since the last four years, he was serving Malankara church at Mudoor as priest.
