Speeding car hits electric pole at Jail Road

Mangaluru: A car which was speeding, hit an electric pole in a late night accident near Pio Mall, Jail Road, on Wednesday January 27. As the car was moving at a high speed, the driver lost control and hit the electric pole.

The impact was such that the electric pole broke into two and the overhead wires fell on the car. There was a loud thud and blast of dust. Passersby and people in the neighbourhood rushed for cover. The identity of the driver is not known and he is said to have escaped from the spot.

Police have registered a case.
