Sports Day 2022

On the 9th of December,2022, Milagres Central School hosted Annual Sports Meet at the Mangala stadium, Mannagudda, Mangaluru. The venue was decorated with flags, festoons, and buntings. The programme commenced at 9.15 a.m.

It was a day filled with fervour and excitement experienced amidst thrills, shrills, and cheers. The school band welcomed the chief guest, Rev.Fr. Kenneth Crasta, Principal St. Joseph ITI, Jeppu, Mangaluru, and The President, Rev. Fr. Bonaventure Nazareth, correspondent, Milagres Educational Institutions, Mangaluru, P. T. A vice president Mr. Sathish Ullal, escorted by the Principal and the P. T instructor. The event commenced with a fabulous display of march past by the students of grade 6 to 10, which was appreciated by everyone.

The school band and the class contingent followed the flag bearers namely, Ms. Srinidhi Swaminathan, Ms. Aishath Hanina, Master. Tejas Chander and Master. Yousuf Hafeez, of grade 10. The march past was judged by Ms. Precy Mascarenhas, Mr. Siggi Perumyan and Mr. Sandeep Rao. The students displayed a good form at the march past and each class eyed for the first place. The best class for the march past was won by the students of grade 9 A and the second place by grade 9 B. This made way for the highly awaited athletic events where competitiveness among the students soared through the roof.

After the school flag being hoisted, the school choir offered a lovely rendition to pay salutations to the Lord Almighty. The gathering was welcomed by the Principal, Rev. Fr. Udaya Joseph Fernandes. The sports meet was declared open after the lighting of the torch by the chief guest. The torch bearers were Master, Mohammed Rushail Rafi, Master. Nihal Rathish, Master. Himan Khader, Master.Lanvil Dsouza and Master. Alhan. This was followed by the various events like long jump, short put, 800m, 600m. 400m, 200m, 100m, and 4x100m relay. The event was marked with awe-inspiring grandeur and opulence, filled with some nail-biting moments by the students. The winners were awarded by the guests and teachers. It was a day filled with sportsmanship, enthusiasm, and memories to cherish. The programme was taken through by Ms. Melita Fernandes.

The students assembled in the ground at 12.45 p.m. for the valedictory ceremony. The judges were honoured with a floral bouquet. The torch was put off by The Principal Rev. Fr. Udaya Joseph Fernandes. Mr. Keshav Naika, P. T instructor delivered declared the close of the sport meet and delivered the vote of thanks. As it is said ‘Save the best for last,’ the overall championship award was announced in the end. Grade 10 students were the overall champions. Ms. Violet Pereira Vas carried through the finale of the Sports meet. End of it all, the principal, staff acclaimed the cooperation and support of the students throughout the day. It was indeed a remarkable day in the history of Milagres central School.
