Srinivas Institute of Technology holds Kho-Kho tournament

Mangaluru: The inaugural of VTU Kho-Kho tournament for men was held on March 3 at Srinivas Institute of Technology, here.

The chief guest of the event Dr Ramakrishna Shabaraya inaugurated the Kho-Kho event. In his inaugural speech he urged the students to include sports in their regular life mainly to gain some of the benefits like discipline, patience and sportsmanship. He also encouraged the students to nurture the sport to make it popular.

The president of the event Dr Thomas Pinto, HOD, mechanical department mentioned the importance of rural sports for overall development and motivated the students to participate in Kho-Kho. In this event six college teams participated.

The first prize was bagged by Alvas Engineering College, Moodbidri and second prize was bagged by Srinivas Institute of Technology, Mangaluru.

The coordinator of this event prof Lokesh and physical director Jayachandra were present on the occasion.
