St Agnes College celebrates festive Onam

Mangaluru: The staff and students of St Agnes College (autonomous), here celebrated the Festival of Onam in its true spirit and splendour on August 24 and 26. Sr Dr M Jeswina AC inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp and wishing the students. She expressed her joy over the enthusiasm of Kerala students in spreading the fragrance of harmony and goodwill on the occasion of Onam in the campus. She also conveyed her hearty wishes of Thiru Onam to all.

Saramma E P, Department of Zoology stressed the importance of Onam celebrations. The students sang ‘Onappattu’ - Onam special traditional songs. Shabnam, II BBA compered the programme.

Onam traditions such as Pookalam and Thiruvathira were a part of the entertainment programme along with other dances proformed by the students. Several competitions were conducted by the Keralites for all the students of the college. The combined efforts and togetherness of all students led to the grand success of the celebration.

Partaking of ‘Paalada Payasam’ left everyone with sweet and tasty memories of Onam 2017 at St Agnes College Campus.
