St Agnes PU College hosts alumni meet

Mangaluru: St Agnes PU College, here recently held their second alumni meet at the college auditorium.

230 alumni attended the meet. The programme commenced by invoking God’s blessings through a prayer hymn.

Sr Shamita AC, principal of St Agnes PU College warmly welcomed the former Agnesians.

CA Daphny Stella D’souza, alumna of 2007 batch, presided over the function. She is a practicing CA who also trains CA Foundation and IPCC students in preparation for their exams.

In her presidential address, she expressed her indebtedness to her alma mater for her remarkable achievements. Her message to all former Agnesians was to never give up their dreams to be brand ambassadors of their alma mater.

In the felicitation programme for the alumni achievers, Dr Sahana P, Dr Samreen Jaffer, Dr Shifali Prabhaker and Dr Abhilash Carolina Abraham were felicitated by Suvasini P, head of the department of Biology. CA Saudamini Chandranna, CA Jennifer Goveans, CA Vijayanthi P, CA Seersanjana and Nelvita Noronha were felicitated by Lovina Aranha, head of the department of Commerce.

There was a short entertainment programme by both the present students as well as the alumni. The programme was compered by Ahima Shetty. The final round of Agnes Amigo’s contest was conducted by Divyanjalin and her team. Around ten selected teams performed onstage and the two best teams were selected by Agnosphere committee members and were awarded.

The alumni were grateful to their alma mater for organising this meet.

The evening closed with a vote of thanks proposed by Nerissa Noronha. The programme concluded with a mass dance which helped revive happy memories and the alumni returned home with nostalgia feeling.
