Mangaluru: The department of Journalism, St Aloysius College (autonomous) recently organised a PR event on road safety and regulations titled ‘Safe on Roads’ at Dr P Dayananda Pai – P Sathish Pai Government First Grade College Mangaluru, Carstreet.
The chief guest of the event was Poornima, inspector of Motor Vehicle Department.
Poornima delivered an oration to the students of 1st year BA on the rules and regulations that should be followed while on road. She also pointed out the cause behind road accidents mentioning that most of the accidents filed were among educated people rather than uneducated people. The inspector expounded the importance of helmet and seat belt while driving.
Rajashekara Hebbar, principal of the college and Jayashri from the department of English were also present at the event.
Eighty students attended the event which wound up with an interactive session.
