St Ann’s College celebrates Christmas with deprived children

Mangaluru: As part of community service and with the joy of giving and reaching out to the underprivileged children, St Ann’s College of Education, here organized a Christmas programme with a splatter of dance drama and music.

The programme commenced with a sports meet conducted for around 130 students from the neighboring school. This was followed by a short cultural programme presented by the BEd and MEd students marking the significance of Christmas. Children were given gifts to cherish the love of Christmas and winners of the sports meet were awarded prizes.

The chief guest Sr Edna Furtado AC, joint secretary, St Ann’s Institutions and superior addressed the gathering and distributed prizes. Beginning with a quotation of Ben Cather, Sr Edna Furtado in her message spoke on the real meaning of Christmas and the best Christmas ever could be experiencing God’s divine love and acceptance. Dr Sr Clare AC, principal, St Ann’s College of Education in her message conveyed the true meaning of celebrating this occasion. Sr Elena AC, headmistress, St Ann’s High School, teaching and non-teaching staff of St Ann’s College of Education and St Ann’s High School were part of the celebration.

Sr Florita, BEd student welcomed the gathering. Fr Joseph Varghese, MEd student gave the significance of the day. Sr Prashanthi Monis, rendered the vote of thanks. Preeti Martha and Disha compered the programme.
