St Dominic Church observes confraternity Sunday

Mangaluru: Confraternity Sunday manifesting the unity of parishioners and public worship of the Eucharistic Sacrament in a procession and sacramental blessing was observed with great devotion and fervour at St Dominic Church in preperation for St Dominic feast which will be celebrated on August 7 at Ashoknagar.

The confraternity mass was celebrated by the assistant parish priest, Fr Prakash Menezes OP.

Parish priest, Fr Aquin Noronha OP, preached the Word of God. Thereafter, the Eucharistic Sacrament was exposed and adored and carried in a grand eucharistic procession.

The blessed sacrament was carried on a decorated van by Fr Prakash Menezes OP.

At the end of the mass, the relic of St Dominic was honoured with novena prayers. National port chaplain Fr Claude Corda OP and Fr Louis Vas OP were also present at the ceremony.

The procession moved along the road heading from the church, then towards Ashoknagar junction and onto Urwa Stores. Eventually the faithful assembled at the church for the final blessing. The entire surrounding area of Ashoknagar bore a festive mood. It was witnessed by people of other faith and touched them too.
