St Joseph’s School Omzooru SPORTS Day

Mumbai (RBI), Dec.17: On December 16, the annual sports meet for the year 2022-23 was held at St Joseph’s higher primary Kannada Medium School, Omzoor with great zeal and enthusiasm. The sports meet was graced by chief guest James Lewis (Retired SBI manager), president Fr. Alwyn D’Cunha (Parish Priest, Holy Family Church, Omzoor and Joint Secretary of the School), Tthe guest of honours Laxmi Premanath (Old Student and Donor), Patrick Pinto (Vice-president, Parish Pastoral Council, Omzoor), Philomena Pinto (Ssecretary, Parish Pastoral Council, Omzoor), Arthur D’Souza (co-ordinator of Parish Commissions) and Sr.Therese Madtha (Headmistress, Holy Family English Medium School, Meramajal).

The guests were welcomed to the dais by the school band. The meet was inaugurated by the guests by releasing the pigeons, followed by ceremonial march past. The sports torch was borne by the athletes. Philomena Pinto received the torch and declared the sports meet open. Student participated in sports events, attractive physical exercises and cultural event.

St. Joseph's higher primary school has history of 130 years and currently the school has 4 staff and 160 students from first to seventh std.

Sr. Pramila A (headmistress), the management, the staff and the students joined their hands together in making this event a grand success. Linet D’Souza anchored the programme and Elroy Saldanha, Praveen Lobo conducted the games for students. The programme ended with the singing of the national anthem
