Mangaluru: A teenager jumped off a building at Adu Maroli on the evening of Saturday. Pratham, a student of 9th standard, is said to be in a critical condition.

Son of Padmanabha, an employee at the income-tax office, and Vishala, a telecommunications employee, Pratham jumped off the third floor of his neighbour's building. Pratham left a note in which he reportedly stated that he was committing the act as he was poor in studies. But the note was written in a way that arose suspicion about the deadly Blue Whale challenge.

The police arrived at the spot and are checking his mobile phone too, to determine if there was really any Blue Whale challenge angle His neighbours as well parents reportedly saw him walk along the top of compound walls for the past one week, but did not suspect anything amiss.

Pratham has been admitted to a private hospital.
