The Feast of St. Anthony's Relic at St. Anthony's Shrine at Kerekatte near Kundapur

Udupi: The feast of St. Anthony’s Relic at St. Anthony’s Shrine at Kerekatte near Kundapur was celebrated with fervor and devotion on Monday, 15th February, 2016.

The festive High Solemn Eucharistic mass concelebrated by Most Rev Dr. Gerald Isaac Lobo, Bishop of Udupi Diocese along with Very Rev Fr. Stany B. Lobo, Dean of Kallianpur Deanery,

Very Rev Fr. Anil D’Souza, Dean of Kundapur Deanery and around 22 priests.

In his homily, Bishop said that divine mercy is the mystery. Divine mercy is the bridge between God and people. God has come to meet the human. Jesus is the face of God’s Mercy. Those who see Jesus will see God almighty. There is no limit, time and end to the grace of mercy. Divine Mercy would be the foundation of the Church. The Mercy of the Jesus will avail to the people, especially for the poor people, needy people, downtrodden etc. St. Anthony also loved the poor people and downtrodden. He attracted the people through his beautiful sermons. He is a great saint who obtained Sainthood within one year of death.

Prior to mass, candles of honor was given to the donators and benefactors. Very Rev Fr. Xavier Pinto, Rector and Director of the Shrine, Kerekatte gave gratitude to all concerned after the end of the celebrations.

Bishop gave candles of honor to the donors of the Shrine after mass and conducted the novena prayers for St. Anthony of Padua.
Bishop gave a brief festive message to all devotees of St. Anthony at the end. Thousand devotees of St. Anthony from Udupi diocese and neighboring diocese’s participated in the festive celebrations of St. Anthony.
