Mangaluru: Gold ornaments and cash worth nearly Rs 4 lakhs were stolen from the house belonging to Sudheer Shetty at Sukananda Nagar near Karnad.
The thieves have decamped with jewels from the almirah apart from cash of Rs 90,000. As the family members had gone to bed at 12.30 am, the theft is said to have occurred after that.
Surprisingly, none of the family members woke up during the theft. This has given room for doubts as to whether the thieves had sprayed some intoxicants on them before committing the theft. They had even switched off the street lights before making they way into the house.
