Thirty sixth College day and Alumni day celebrated at Crossland

Face the problems in life with courage and treat problems as opportunities said Dr.Annamma Kurien, Professor & HoD of Pathology, Maleka Manipal College, Manipal while addressing students as Chief Guest of the College day celebrations. She appreciated the college for pursuing the vision of its founder late Dr.C.T Abraham by offering a number of student friendly initiatives.

She advised the students to face problems in life with courage and treat problems as challenges instead of running away from the problems.Prof.Mathew C.Ninan, Managing Trustee, Priority Education Foundation conveyed the good wishes of the Management.

Ms..Pooja Mr. Santhosh and Ms.Faby John who secured the first, fifth and ninth rank respectively in the Mangalore University examination 2018-19 were felicitated on the occasion. The retiring faculty and staff Prof. (Mrs.) Elizabeth Roy, Prof. K.K.Gurumurthy and Mr.Albert Monthero were honored .

The Mamatha Best Crosslander award was presented to Ms. Wafa. Ms.Alfija and Ms.Lalitha were given special awards for scoring cent percent marks in II B Com Financial Accounting and Cost & Management Accounting respectively.Renjith who represented Mangalore University Wrestling team and Premjoy Narzary who represented the University Football team were also felicitated. The Principal presented the annual report and Salwa Mohd Qasim compered the programme.

Crossland Alumni day

More than two hundred alumni from different parts of the country gathered at the college for the second alumni day celebrations of the college.Prof.K.Narayanan, Trustee, Consumer Forum, Udupi was the Chief Guest. He complimented the founder of the institution late Dr.C.T Abraham for his vision in establishing the college in this rural environment. Iam fascinated by the out of box ideas initiated by the college with the support of the alumni association, he added. The friends of the college who supported the college Mr.Ashok Kumar Shetty,Matpady,Mr.Umesh Naik,Cherkady,Mr.Kamalaksha Hebbar,Pethri,,Mr.Manjunath Naik,Mrs.Savitha Yermal,Mr.Sathish S. Koduvalli and Mr.Shashikanth Nairy were felicitated on the occasion.Prof.(Mrs.) Elizabeth Roy,Prof.K.K.Gurumurthy and Mr. Albert Monthero who are retiring from service were honoured.The 2018-19 University rank holders from the college Ms.Pooja S.,Mr.Santhosh and Ms.Faby John were felicitated along with the past Presidents of the alumni association Mr.Umesh Shetty and Mrs.Jyothi.

The Bengaluru alumni chapter Office bearers handed over a cheque of Rs.1,20,000 towards the free breakfast scheme of the college, apart from Rs. 5,000 presented by Dr.Umanath Shetty,Bengaluru. .Mr.Pramod Shetty donated Rs.10,000 towards the Medical Relief fund. Alumni 2002 batch handed over a cheque of Rs.72,000 towards scholarship for economically backward students.Mr.Josph Krupa and Mr.Nagaraj Shetty contributed Rs.5,000 each for the same purpose.Mr.Vishwanatha Shetty presented Rs.20,000 for an endowment.Prof (Mrs) Elizabeth Roy and Prof K.K.Gurumurthy offered a donation of Rs.2,00,000 each to the College. More alumni have promised to help the college in managing different schemes.

.Ms.Surekha Shetty,President of Bengaluru Chapter and Mr.Vishwanatha Shetty,President,Brahmavar Chapter addressed the gathering.Prof.Mathew C Ninan,Managing Trustee, Priority Educational Foundation while addressing the alumni offered a matching grant to the college. The Management is willing to provide the same amount of funds the college can raise to meet the needs of various schemes, he said, which was happily accepted by the Crossland family with a loud applause. The Principal, Prof.Samuel K.Samuel expressed his happiness in meeting all the alumni and challenged them to make sure that no Crossland student sits in the class with an empty stomach The free breakfast scheme started with the support of the alumni must go ahead, he said.. Dr.Robert Clive, Staff Coordinator welcomed the gathering, Mr.Yogish, Treasurer proposed the vote of thanks and Ms.Latha compered the programme.Mr.Guruprasad Bhat, Secretary of Brahmavar Alumni Chapter was the coordinator of the whole show, which was attended by Mr.Sharathchandra Shetty,Mr.Udaya Poojary and Mr.Nagaraj Shetty, office bearers of the Bengaluru alumni chapter. Entertainment programmes were also presented by the alumni, including the one by acclaimed dancer and cine artist Mrs.Manasi and her daughter.
