Two notorius thieves held in Udupi

Udupi: DCIB Inspector Sampath Kumar led police team arrested two notorious thieves who broke the locked door of a house at Barkur Maskibail and stole jewellery. The arrested have been identified as Prahlad Poojary (23) resident of Golibettu, Airodi gram, Sasthan, Udupi taluk and Prashanth G (24), resident of Saraswathi Nilaya, Sasthan, Gundmi gram, Udupi taluk.

The police have also taken into custody two juveniles. Gold chain, bracelet, finger ring, earrings, Rs 2,560 cash and the car used for the theft have been seized.

The jewellery recovered from them weighs 19.420 grams and is worth Rs 58,000 approximately. The car may be worth Rs five lacs. The total value of items recovered from them is Rs 5,60,560.
