Two youngsters die in tourist bus-poultry van collision

Kasargod: In a tragic incident, two youngsters lost their lives in a collision between a tourist bus and a van carrying poultry chickens near the Mogral Koppara Bazar on Wednesday. The impact of the collision was such that the bus rammed against a road side compound wall and a house, while the van caught fire.

The deceased are van driver Ujwalnath (19), son of Gopinath of Pallanjimoole and his assistant Cherkala resident Masood (22).

The accident took place at around 5.30 am. The poultry van was heading towards Kasargod from Mangaluru while the Kalladka Travels tourist bus was proceeding towards Mangaluru from Tiruvananthapuram. The house of one Mohammad Sharief was damaged in the mishap. The bus driver Girish of Palghat too has been injured and hospitalised.
