Udupi Diocese Christian community offered Hore Kanike to Paryaya Celebrations

Udupi : Christians community of the Udupi Diocese offered Hore Kanike on Thursday, 14th January, 2016 on the occasion of Paryaya Festival of Sri Veshweshatheertha Swamiji of Pejawar Math who is ascending the throne for the first time.

The initiative was taken under the leadership of Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh, International Federation of Karnataka Christian Association (IFKCA), ICYM, YCS/YSM, Sthree Sanghaton, Milagres English Medium School, Kallianpur and Christian Organizations of the diocese. The Hore Kanike procession was flagged off by Oscar Fernandes Rajya Sabha member along with Jery Vincent Dias, Proprietor of Mandavi Builders and others at Jodukatte, near Big Bazar, Udupi.

During the start of procession, William Machado, President of Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh welcomed the gathering. Alice Rodrigues, Secretary of Catholic Sabha, Louis Lobo and Dr. Nery Cornelio officials of IFKCA, Kiran Elroy Crasto, Alphonse D’Costa and Walter Cyril Pinto former Presidents of Catholic Sabha Central Committeee, Rev Fr. Edwin D’Souza and Derrick Mascarenhas of Youth Commission Udupi Diocese, Gerald Fernandes, Former ZP President, Merwyn Aranha Shirva and Joseph Rebello Kallianpur co-coordinator’s of the Hore Kanike, Women’s Association members and others were present.
