Undertrial attacked by prison mates

Udupi: An undertrial lodged at the Hirayadka district sub jail was attacked by prison mates Sudeep Shetty, Akhilesh Shetty, Sukmar, Manjesh, Pratheek and Prashanth Mogaveera on Sunday, November 27 between 9.30 am and 10 am.

The victim Irshad Moideen was remanded to custody on November 26 for alleged cattle trafficking. The incident occurred while he was going to have his breakfast. It is said that the above accused had abused Irshad and given him a life threat.

The Hiriyadka Police have registered a case under IPC sections 341,504,506,323 and 34.
