Unity march led by Ramanath Rai to be held on Dec 12

Mangaluru: Like-minded organizations will hold “Samarasyada Nadige Sauhardatheyedege”, on December 12. The poster and logo of the unity march were released by the district minister in-charge B Ramanath Rai at the Town Hall Mini Hall.

Addressing the mediapersons Minister Ramanath Rai said, "Dakshina Kannada is known as Intellectuals district, however now people are lacking unity and brotherhood in our society. Some months ago there was a fear of communal unrest in the district and in this connection, they had called a meeting at the DC office. During the meeting like minded people suggested holding a unity march. Taking their suggestion seriously, we decided to hold the unity march from Farangipet to Mani on December 12."

At 9:00 am the ‘Kalnadige Jatha’, will be flagged off at Farangipet and is expected to reach Mani at 4:00 pm followed by a stage programame. The unity march will be an apolitical march. Leaders from various organizations, religious and social organizations will be taking part in the unity march. Throughout the Unity march, there will be no slogans.
