Valedictory of service learning project at Crossland College

Brahmavar: The Community development cell of Crossland College has been involved in the college student volunteers teaching English to the small children of the adopted village during the academic year. The children used to come to the college women’s hostel on weekends and classes were held at the village too.

About 12 students regularly attended the classes and were benefitted. As a participant said” I got more marks in English this time and would like these elder sisters to teach us all the subjects. ”Ms.Pooja,I B.A,Ms.Hamsaveni,II B.A,Ms.Sudiya ,II B. Com, Ms.Reeba and Ms.Bibina,II B.A were involved in teaching.

The children presented a few cultural programmes.Prof. (Mrs.) Reebu Samuel, in charge of the cell addressed the gathering. Student volunteers involved in teaching were given appreciation certificates. Mrs.Deepa Rao, Mrs.Jyothi,Mr.Sheshagiri Bhat and Mr.Biju Jacob coordinated the programme.Sports materials were also distributed to the children.
