Veronica Cornelio awarded the ‘Saarthak Naari -2016’ for her contribution in the field of social service

Bengaluru, November 21, 2016: In an effort to identify and encourage women achievers who have made a difference to the community and made a mark in the society, an exclusive award ceremony called ‘Saarthak Naari – Women Achievers Awards’ was held at The Lalith Ashok Hotel in Bangalore today. women achievers in various fields like literature, performing arts, medicine, science and technology, politics, public service, education, sports, agriculture and lifestyle were awarded the prestigious ‘Saarthak Naari – 2016’ awards.

Mrs. Veronica Cornelio, former chairman of Karnataka Soaps and Detergents (KSDL) and well known social worker in Udupi was presented the award for her contribution in the field of ‘Social Service’ and ‘Politics’

Women from across different fields were selected after a rigorous scrutiny procedure and thoughtful discussions by the jury and the selection committee. The jury comprised of well known names like Smt. Bharathi Vishnuvarshan, Indian Actress; Sri. N Kumar, Rtd Judge, Karnataka High Court; Sri. Bhaskar Bhat, MD Titan Company ltd and Chairman , Vistara; Dr. Bharath Chandra, Life Coach, Winners Institute Pvt Ltd

On receiving the award, Mrs. Veronica Cornelio said “ It is rightly said, There is no tool for development, more effective than the empowerment of women and we can never succeed if half of us are held back. I am humbled and I thank the jury for this honor and recognition for the little that I have done to help the needy, but much more than this every time I walk around my home town and people greet me with smiles, acknowledging the effort I have taken for them, I feel on top of the world. Those smiles are my trophies. That is what I have earned. I will continue my efforts to do what I can do best to help the needy” she said

‘1000 Petals’ is working with a goal of acknowledging women who have broken barriers and bridged gaps to excel in their respective field beyond the limit of the minds and achieve excellence. It will serve as tribute to women to celebrate their work and achievement, their life and their contribution to society.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Manoj P K, Founder and Director of 1000 Petals said “Among all our various initiatives the ‘Saarthak Naari Awards’ is the closest to my heart. Our inspiration to come up with these awards was when we realized how much the women in our families and lives meant to us. The mother’s who give us birth, bring us up and motivate us when we need it the most. The sister’s who care for us and encourage us to take new challenges. And our life partners who sacrifice and take care of us through the roller coaster journey of life”
