Woman slips into well and dies

Kundapur: In a tragic incident, Nagamma Devadiga (38) from Hosmane slipped and fell into a well located near her home. Nagamma had approached the well located in her compound to collect drinking water in the early hours. She slipped into the well, which does not have a protective wall. Although her family members tried to save her by going down the well, she could not be rescued as she was stuck in the sediment that had accumulated at the bottom in large quantities.

The woman was brought out with the help of a ladder and hook attached to a rope. By the time she was brought out of well, Nagamma had breathed her last.

Byndoor police station house officer, Thimeesh B N, and officials, H Manjunath and Nagaraj, visited the spot. A case of unnatural death was registered in Byndoor police station.
