Women’s Day Celebration by Catholic Women’s Association, Kundapur Deanery

Kundapur, Mar 9: Catholic Women’s Association Kundapur Deanery celebrated the international women’s day on Sunday at St Mary’s Auditorium.

Rev Fr Anil D’souza presided over the function and greeted the women by saying “Women are soft in nature. Women can succeed in every area of life. Their selfless service and courage to face the challenges has made them successful. “

The spiritual director of women’s association of the Udupi diocese Rev Fr Reginald Pinto revealed the development of Kundapur Deanery women’s association with statistics and urged to achieve more. Rev Fr Lawrence Martis the zonal spiritual director wished good luck to the women. Treeza Martis the convener of the association said that women are not safe in the society, so they should be very careful all the time.

The women from the churches of Kundapur, Gangolly, Byndoor, Tallur, Sastan, Pius Nagar and Kota performed singing, dance, skit, fun etc. The women from Basrur, Padukone and Koteshwara were present during the celebration.

The resource person Vasudeva Shanbag gave information about preparing manure at the home and other resource person Praveen demonstrated yoga for women.

The women from Tallur unit welcomed the gathering by singing a Konkani wedding song. Judit Dsouza the zonal president delivered the welcome speech. The secretary Nora Dsouza read the report. The treasurer Preeti Fernandes proposed the vote of thanks. Janet Banz and Veera Pinto presented the programme.
