Women’s Day by Kundapur Women’s Association

Kundapur, Mar.13: The women’s organization of Holy Rosary Church celebrated International Women’s Day. The function was held at the church auditorium after offering the Holy Mass. Rev Fr Anil D’Souza presided over the function and in his speech he said, “Women is not lagging behind in any field, She is taking a lead in all the fields. They are active in the church activities also. Formerly, there were only male ward leaders; nowadays you can see many women taking that responsibility efficiently. Therefore women should not think that they are weak and helpless. They should come forward and serve the society”.

 

 

 

Sister Premlata the convener of women’s association said, “The male oriented society has given women the second position. Still women are working in top positions and also look after their families. Thereshould be equality in the society”. The assistant parish priest Rev Fr. Jerald Sandip D’mello said that the role of a woman in a man’s life is very important. They all wished greeted the women gathered in the function. Rev.Fr. Praveen Amrith Martis-the principal of St.Mary’s P.U.College, Shanti Carvallo-the president of ward catholic women’s association, Felcian Dsouza were present at the dais.

Vinaya D’Costa the president of Kundapur Unit women’s association welcomed all. The secretary Nirmala Dsouza proposed vote of thanks. Vice president Shanti Rani Baretto presented the programme.

Rev Fr Chetan Capuchin the editor of the Udupi Diocese Magazine “Ujwad’ was present as the resource person and he gave a talk on the topic ‘woman and nature’. Women self help group of Kundapur i.e. Mallige, Karunamayi, sneha, Spoorthi, Chintana, Pragati, Samruddhi and Mata took part in this programme. Women exhibited various entertainement programmes such as singing, dance, fashion show etc.
