‘World Environment Day’ celebrated at St Philomena College Puttur

Puttur: 3/19Karnataka BN NCC, NSS, Rovers-Rangers, Eco club and Youth Red Cross Society of St Philomena College Puttur jointly organized ‘World Environment Day’ on June 29, 2019 in the College Campus.

Range Forest Officer of Puttur Mr. Mohan Kumar participated as the chief guest. In his message, he has said, ‘Protection of environment is the prerequisite for the survival of human beings. The rapid growth of population and extreme desire for urbanization has adversely affected the atmosphere. It is inevitable to follow the ideology of Smt. Salumarada Thimmakka, who is known for her contributions to environment and social work.’

The Principal Prof. Leo Noronha in his presidential address said, ‘The future of human beings is unthinkable unless there is good environment. Everyone must understand the significance of pollution free environment.’

Deputy Range Forest Officers Mr. Kumara Swamy, Mr. Lokesh and Mr. B T Prakash graced the occasion.

NCC Officer Lt Johnson David Sequeira, NSS Programme Officer Ms. Shashiprabha B, Convenor of Rovers-Rangers Mr. Dhanya P T, Convenors of Eco Club Mr. Nagaraju M, Ms. Rakshitha R B and Ms. Smitha Vivek coordinated the programme.

NSS Programme Officer Mr. Dinakara Anchan welcomed the gathering. The convenor of Youth Red Cross Society Ms. Venkateshwari K S proposed the vote of thanks.
