World Theatre Day Celebrated by Kalakul

Mangaluru: Mandd Sobhann’s Kalakul Theatre Repertory celebrated World Theatre Day, on March 26, 2017, at Kalaangann, Mangalore.

A full day Play-writing Workshop was organised in which the techniques of writing plays, short plays and skits were taught by well-know playwright and Administrator of Kalakul, Shri Arun Raj Rodrigues. At the end of the workshop, all the participants read-out a short play / skit written by them and Ms. Frivita D’Souza won a cash prize of Rs. 1,000/- for writing the best script.

Shri Prakash Shenoy of Sadhana Balaga, was the Chief Guest. He was happy that the younger generation is showing interest in theatre, which is a medium of propagating our language and culture to the future generations. Mandd Sobhann President – Shri Louis J. Pinto and Secretary – Shri Kishore Fernandes were present on stage.

This was followed by a Puppet Show titled ‘Bombyam Khell’, presented by Kalakul and directed by Shri Gurumurthy V. S. Neenasam.
