Karkala: In a tragic incident which occurred at Edu village in the taluk on Sunday January 31, a girl committed suicide by hanging herself. Her engagement had been held, and she was to tie the nuptial knot shortly. The deceased is Suchitra Hegde (26) from Nadave in Edu village.
Suchitra chose to end her life in this fashion. Engagement function relating to her marriage had been organized about a month back. Reasons for this sudden turn of events are not yet known.
Family members of Suchitra have expressed shock, surprise, and suspicion about this suicide.
