YSD - ICYM Derebail Unit celebrates Pavsa Gammath with great pomp.

Rev. Fr. Austin Peter Peres - Parish Priest/Unit Director, Rev. Fr. Gration Alvares - Associate Director, Rev. Fr. Ronald Prakash D' Souza - Director of ICYM Central Council, Mangalore Diocese, Mr. Edward Coelho - Vice President of Parish Pastoral Council, Mrs. Lizzie Fernandes and Mr. Jeethan Castelino - Animators of YSD/ICYM Derebail Unit, Mr. Jaison Pereira - President, ICYM Central Council and Ms. Flevisha Monteiro - Secretary, ICYM Central Council and other ICYM office bearers were the guests present for the program.

Ms. Ivy Melisha D' Souza - President of YSD welcomed the gathering. The guests who were present on the dais were given a floral welcome. Mrs. Lizzy Lasrado beautifully spoke in detail with regard to the Pavsa Gammath and the tradition associated with it .She spoke of the manner in which people looked forward to this season. Rev. Fr. Ronald Prakash D' Souza (Fr. Rons Ajekar) spoke a few words and congratulated Yuva Spandan Derebail YSD - ICYM for putting up such a unique and wonderful program. Rev. Fr. Austin Peter Peres addressed the gathering and spoke a few words with regard to Pavsa Gammath. The symbolic inauguration of Pavsa Gammath 2018 was then done. The guests along with Animators of Yuva Spandan Derebail pulled the ribbon off the box which was filled with confetti. As the ribbon was pulled, the confetti's began to fall as a symbol of rain and within the box displayed "Pavsa Gammath 2018". Ms. Sandra Pinto - Secretary of YSD then proposed the vote of thanks and thus the inaugural program concluded.

Cultural program began with a live band performance. Many talented parishioners and various associations of the Most Holy Redeemer Church, Derebail had beautifully put up a cultural program. The cultural program included - Dance, skit, Jokes, Mad ad, live singing, music, Mando etc. Spot games were conducted especially for enthusiastic audience. 22 ward Gurkars, Sponsors and all those who toiled for the success of the programme were felicitated with mementos and flowers. A collection box was circulated by YSD among the audience so as to meet the expenses of the event. As soon as the cultural program came to an end, Rev. Fr. Gration Alvares prayed over the meals.

The guests then were led towards the food counter followed by the parishioners. There were altogether 23 delicious food items prepared by the ward members of Derebail Parish. The crowd expected for the event was 600 but the actual crowd who witnessed Pavsa Gammath 2018 was about 1000. Apart from Derebail parishioners, there were many outside Parishioners as well. Everyone enjoyed the evening as well as the food. They, Yuva Spandan Derebail YSD - ICYM were appreciated and applauded for the wonderful execution of the marvelous event. No doubt that Pavsa Gammath 2018 has become a grand success and a memorable one. The entire event was compeered by Mr. Sheldon Crasta. The backdrop on the stage and the entrance of the hall was ornated keeping in mind the tradition associated with this event. Most of the crowd including the youth wore the traditional attire. Pavsa Gammath 2018 concluded with Baila led by the live band group and DJ Prajwal Sequeira.
