YSM holds seminar on friendship

Mangaluru: Young Students’ Movement (YSM), Mangaluru, conducted seminar on ‘Healthy Friendships’ and ‘Respect to Parents/ Elders’ at CM Hall, Jeppu.

 

The day was inaugurated by tying friendship bands. Sr Tressiana who served YCS/YSM for the last 30 years as animator was the chief guest. She was honored for her selfless service for so many years. In her address she gave a call to the students to make right use of all the opportunities they get in life and also live a life of healthy relations.

Fr Clifford Fernandes, professor in the Jeppu seminary was the resource person of the day. Nirmala and Richard Alvares were on the dais on behalf of all the animators. Fr Rupesh Madtha, the director of the movement, gave an introductory speech. Ronald Serrao, the in-charge rector of the Jeppu seminary was present. Deacons Rajesh and Simon conducted the ice breaking session.

Rovita D’Souza compeered the programme; students from St Joseph PU college Bajpe led the audience into prayer. President Fathimath welcomed the gathering. Fiona Tauro rendered the vote of thanks. Breakfast was served in the morning and lunch in the noon. The council members volunteered themselves for the success of the program. As
many as 200 student representatives participated in the event.

The YSM Mangaluru remains grateful to Melwyn Anitha Cutinha and family from Urwa who were the sponsors of the event.
