Youth Congress workers clash in Bantwal

Published On : 16 May 2017   |  Reported By : Canaranews Network

Bantwal: A clash took place between two groups of Youth Congress workers owing allegiance to sitting District Youth Congress Chief Mithun Rai and Lukman, an aspirant for the post at the Bantwal Taluk Congress Office on Monday. Both have contested for the top post elections for which are being held.

Few were injured during the clash. There was chaos as hundreds of party workers gathered at the spot. Even though the Bantwal Town and Rural Police rushed to the spot, they couldn’t do much but be mute spectators as this was an internal party matter.

On the other hand, it is being speculated that Mithun Rai will be replacing Abhaychandra Jain as aspirant for Congress MLA in Moodbidri-Mulki constituency.
