Youth drowns at Tannirbavi

Mangaluru: In a tragic incident, a youth lost his life while playing in the water at Tannirbavi beach on Tuesday. The deceased has been identified as Mohammed Safwan (20), a resident of Bonde.

A teenager, identified as Hafeez (17), who was with Safwan, was rescued and admitted to hospital. A group of six friends including Safwan and Hafeez had gone to the beach. While playing in the water, Safwan and Hafeez got pulled away by the strong waves. While Hafeez was rescued, Safwan got washed away.

Safwan had completed PUC while Hafeez just finished SSLC. Panambur police have registered a case.
