Youth drowns at river

Beltangady: In a tragic incident, a 24-year-old youth drowned at a river in Kannaje on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Steven Rodrigues.

The incident occured at around 3.30 pm when Steven along with his friends had been to the river for swimming. The body has been shifted to Beltangady government hospital for post-mortem.

There has been an increase in people losing their life due to drowning. It is high time, authorities ban swimming in these places.
