9tanki Entertainment is a group of young and energetic bunt friends getting together on weekends and living their passion of making movies. Here's how they describe themselves:

9tanki Entertainment is an independent Hindi short-film making production house - we develop stories that we believe in. Self belief is the only foundation we plan to build on and your support will act as our pillars.

The basic inspiration behind the name 9tanki is how film making emerged in India - the idea was to entertain people. Make them forget all their problems and worries. Make them a part of a virtual world and live a parallel life.

In the earlier times there were these travelers who went from one place to another performing acts of different genres - romance, drama, suspense, comedy, and so on. They were referred to as nautankis. Similarly, we are a bunch of non-actors, non-directors. non-script writers who love Indian cinema. We pose, we fake, we dance, we crack the worst PJs. We can make people cry and we can make them laugh.

They recently came into notice for creating one of the most Viral videos on Teachers' Day titled "What Have You Learnt Today?". They achieved over 35k views in less than 48 hours and was shared and appreciated by worldwide audience. However, this does not come easy to them. They have been consistently delivering some good short films and videos since the past few years. But due to restrictions in their full time jobs they haven't had the time to be very regular with their uploads. But they say that the success of their current video has charged them all up and they now plan to go all guns blazing!

About the Team:

Mehul Shetty (Actor, Director, Director of Photography and Script Writer)

9tanki Entertainment is his brainchild. He came up with the plan and the name and got his like-minded friends involved to get things rolling. The start was a little jerky as none of them were from filmy background and they did not have any formal training in film making. However, with some help from him Editor friend Ankit H things started looking brighter. Their videos speak for themselves - you can see the improvement in each videos from the time thy started making movies.

Rohit Shetty (Assistant Director and Social Media Expert)

He has been a part of this journey form the very beginning along with Mehul Shetty. He provides his ideas and thoughts into the camera angles to be used and trying out new things. He also manages the Social Media platforms for 9tanki Entertainment.

Priti Shetty (Casting, Sets, Locations and Lyrics)

Priti is the strength that keeps the team going. She's the one who bucks the team up when they are low or lazy and the team credits her for all the energy on the sets. Apart from that, she looks after the casting, decides on the sets and locations for shoot and writes some magical words for the team.

Nikhil Shetty (Assistant Director and Public Relations)

Nikhil is titled the "Funny Guy" in the team. He keeps the mood light on and off the sets. He makes sure that every cast and crew are on their toes while on the sets - but he himself enjoys a lot of time relaxing on the sets. He also assists Mehul at Direction with his own unconventional ideas and also manages the PR department for the team.

Chettan R.Shetty (Assistant Director and Marketing)

Chettan Shetty is the latest entrant to the core team but has been a very strong force as an AD. He makes sure everything is set before shoot and looks after the smooth functioning of shoot schedules. He also takes care of the Marketing department for the team.

About "What Have You Learnt Today?"

Their video "What have you learnt today?" is the latest YouTube sensation which is currently the talk of the e-world, at least in India. Their video was shared by the media house giant StoryPick (http://www.storypick.com/what-have-you-learnt-today/) on the very same day of upload, gathering over 4k shares and being appreciated by people all over the world. This helped boost up the views, likes, subscriptions of the video. Since then , there has been no looking back. And to get an insight on how well they are doing on YouTube India, we tried the #PopularOnYouYubeIndia hashtag and came up with a result that baffled us. Among all the in-numerous videos available on YouTube, "What Have You Learnt Today?" had made it's way in the top 200 videos being watched by the whole of India. We tried to get a closer look, and noticed that the video even ranks withing the top 100 most popular videos in India which is a huge landmark - as the results show the most watched and appreciated videos by Indians, but the videos could be from anywhere around the world! To be exact, they are currently ranked 43 in the list (even above the recently trending Raksha Bandhan video posted by Bollywood Superstar Akshay Kumar which is on number 44) even after 2 days of upload.

This post is basically to appreciate their dedication. This is their hard work and passion paying off and it gives a blink of the things lying ahead for them! A big cheers to this talented bunch of Bunts and wishing them good luck with all their future endeavors!
