Emraan Hashmi penning book on his son's struggle with cancer

Mumbai, (PTI) Actor Emraan Hashmi is all set to turn author for a book, which will shed light on his five-year-old son's struggle with first-stage cancer.

The 36-year-old "Mr X" star, who is married to Parveen Shahani for nine years and is a proud parent to a son, said he is excited about the book.

"The last two years have been the most trying phase of my life. Through it I have found two of my greatest teachers.

Cancer and my son!.

"Thank you to the entire team at penguin!! Can't wait for the book launch. Will keep you all in the loop on the exact release date. Cheers," Emraan posted on Twitter.

The book is expected to arrive on stands next year.

"Delighted to announce we will be publishing @emraanhashmi's book on the fight against cancer with his son.

Out 2016," a post from Penguin Books India read.

The actor will be next seen in "Azhar", which is a biopic on former Indian skipper Mohammed Azharuddin. Emraan is playing the titular role in it.

Directed by Tony D'Souza, Azhar traces the journey Mohammad Azharuddin's career and his personal life.
