Never thought I'll become a singer: Neeti Mohan

Published On : 06 Aug 2016

Mumbai, (IANS): Singer Neeti Mohan, best known for songs like “Kheech meri photo”, “Jiya re” and “Ishq wala love”, says she never thought of becoming a singer and it was her sisters -- Shakti Mohan and Mukti Mohan -- who showed faith in her talent.

Neeti, who appears as a coach on the popular children singing reality show “The Voice India Kids”, got nostalgic about her journey when she saw Srishti Rawat, a contestant who hails from Delhi, singing melody queen Lata Mangeshkar's popular song “Lag jaa gale”.
“When I heard Srishti singing, I got emotional and I got reminded of myself. I had gone through a flashback and recalled my struggling days in the industry,” Neeti said in a statement.

“I never thought that I will become a singer in my life. It was my family and my sisters, who had faith in me. It was my sisters' idea to enroll me in a realty show and they were the ones who stood in the queue for the auditions,” added the singer, who came into limelight after winning reality show “Popstars”.

Apart from Neeti, “The Voice India Kids”, which is aired on &TV, also features singers Shekhar Ravjiani and Shaan as coaches.
