Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards 2016 concludes the year with a bang!

Dabur Red Paste presents Nickelodeon’s Kids Choice Awards 2016 powered by Lifebuoy and Choki Choki - India’s only award show by the kids, for the kids and of the kids, honored the best in Entertainment across film and television. The gala evening took place on December 5th, 2016 at Reliance Studios, Filmcity Mumbai. The awards saw Bollywood and Television greats like the King of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Tiger Shroff, Leander Peas, Mouni Roy amongst others walk the much talked about ‘Orange Carpet’. It was an evening that captivated the guests through phenomenal acts and memorable moments.

 

The Kids Choice Award is the only Awards Show in the country that has kids decide on who would win the coveted orange “Nickelodeon Blimp”. The Badshah of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan won the Kids’ Ikon of the Year award. Sultan won in the Best Film category with Salman also winning the Best Actor (Male) Award. Deepika Padukone won the coveted Best Actress (Female) award and Kala Chashma, the song that had the entire country grooving to its tunes was voted as the Best Song by kids. The much adored Tiger Shroff was voted by kids as The Dancing Star of the year and Varun Dhawan won the Best Entertainer of the Year award. Varun and Alia together also won the Kamaal Ki Jodi Award. Motu Patlu received maximum votes and was declared the Best Show on a Kids Channel in the country with Motu winning the Best Indian Cartoon Character of the year award.

 

The most memorable moments that made the Kid’s Choice Awards 2016 an affair to remember were Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Manish Paul and Rithvik Dhanjani turning green on being slimed by kids. The entertainment scaled new highs with Shah Rukh Khan also being slimed green. The ‘Green Slime Mania’ is a tradition that is followed across the globe for Kid’s Choice Awards as a mark of honor where the biggest and hottest International celebrities like Justin Bieber, Katty Perry, Adam Sandler and more have been slimed. The last edition of Kids’ Choice Awards saw Bollywood’s Badshah Shah Rukh Khan and Superstar Hrithik Roshan get slimed by the kids. This edition once again saw children come together to slime Shahrukh Khan along with Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan. The duo sportingly enjoyed the moment and celebrated with children, while being Slimed Green.

Speaking on the second edition of Kids Choice Awards Nina Elavia Jaipuria, Business Head - Kids' Entertainment, Viacom18 said "At Nickelodeon, we have always believed in empowering children and giving that celebrates kids and their choices. I am sure that the scale, high decibel entertainment and the never seen before “green slime mania” is set to create a unique and memorable awards’ experience”

Commenting on the evening the handsome heartthrob Varun Dhawan said, “I have performed at various award shows earlier but Kid’s Choice Awards will always hold a special place in my heart. It was an incredible experience for me performing with the kids. The energy that they bring is infectious and I totally enjoyed every bit of being part of this extravaganza including being slimed by kids.”

Talking about her act at Kid’s Choice Awards the gorgeous diva Alia Bhatt said, “I am so happy to be part of Kid’s Choice Awards which is the only award show of its kind centered around kids and their choices. The energy and the entertainment at the awards were intense and being surrounded and cheered by kids while performing is an unforgettable experience”

The high octane awards show featured some enthralling entertainment acts, musical presentations and performances by numerous Bollywood and television personalities like Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Akshat and Raghav Juyal. An exclusive Nick toon parade with Motu Patlu, SHIVA, Ninja Hatori , Dora etc peppered with pranks and riotous gags brought alive the child in everybody. The viewers were also entertained with a host of performances by renowned actors and acts by their favorite television stars like Mouni Roy and the Dramebaaz kids. Anchored by the popular duo Manish Paul and Rithvik Dhanjani the evening witnessed a host of emotion and celebration amidst much fanfare and aplomb.

The Awards will premiere on Nickelodeon, Sonic, Nick Jr. and Nick HD+. KCA will also see the entire Viacom18 network come together to telecast the much awaited awards across network channels- Colors, Rishtey, Colors Bangla, Colors Marathi, Colors Gujrati and the newest offering VOOT.

· Best TV Show – Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah

· Best Child Entertainer – Bhavya Gandhi as Tappu for Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah

· Best Entertainer Movie – Varun Dhawan

· Best Show on Kids Channel – Motu Patlu

· Best Indian Cartoon Character - Motu

· Best Mobile Game category - Temple Run

· Nickelodeon Kamaal Ki Jodi - Varun and Alia
