Mumbai (The Telegraph): The Maharashtra government has sanctioned a 2,000 sqm plot to actress Hema Malini in Mumbai to set up a classical dance school, almost 20 years after she approached the state for a plot.
The plot is located in Ambivli area in Andheri. Revenue minister Eknath Khadse handed over the sanction order to her on Tuesday.
Hema will be given "final possession orders" only after certain stipulations are complied with. These include provisions that her Natyavihar Kala Kendra Charity Trust will develop a garden on a part of the plot which will be open to the public and that the organisation will not earn profit.
"I want the school to be a platform for children to learn, teach and perform classical dance," the actress said. (PTI)
