Ram Kadam and Raza Muraad at the annual function of Film Studio Setting and Allied Mazdoor Union

28th January, 2016, Film Studio Setting and Allied Mazdoor Union organized their annual function for their unions’ members, where their Chairman and BJP MLA Ram Kadam delighted the members and filled the rafters of the Union with an evening that provided serious insight into their welfare policies for the workers. The event featured a special conversation series with the Union’s leaders Gangeshwarlal Shrivastava, Dinesh Chaturvedi and film actors discussing craft and career with their members. Other guests who graced the occasion were, Actor Raza Muraad, Spiritual Guruji Kumaran Swami and Actress Teena Ghai.

The evening began with the National Anthem sung by the guests, lighting of diyas and bursting crackers. Each guest on stage was honoured with ‘Pheta’ and welcomed with the sound of biguls.

Led by a Chairman, elected annually, the Union acts as a channel of communication between the worker and film bodies. In addition, the Union acts as a point of contact between the workers and relevant external bodies.
Chairman Ram Kadam left to a standing ovation. The Union members who queued for up to several hours to gain entrance were well rewarded and this was indeed an evening of insight and laughter in equal measure.
