If a research report released by Indian content and news agency IndiaNewsNetwork.IN is to be believed, Indian model and actress Arshi Khan was more searched in Pakistan than Kareena Kapoor, Katrina Kaif and Deepika Padukone put together. According to the IndiaNewsNetwork.IN research report titled "Social Media Trends in Asia", Kareena Kapoor was searched 14,25,019 times during Sept-Oct 2015, Katrina Kaif was searched 12,98,113 times and Deepika Padukone was searched approximately 11 lakh times during the overall period August 15 to October '15. Compared to this, Arshi Khan was searched about 40,21,607 times as compared to other Bollywood celebs, during the same period the report says.

Arshi Khan has been in the news of late for her tweet (that also earned her a fatwa from a Pakistani Maulana) "Yes I had sex with Afridi, so what?" - the tweet went viral and was published on thousands of blogs, websites and portals. It was shared, trolled and re-tweeted thousands of times on Twitter.

The 20-page research report titled "Social Media Trends in Asia", lists various other trending subjects, people and topics that were in the news over the last six months. The report also mentions the 2G versus 3G usage in developing Asian countries, mobile bandwidth usage, etc. According to journalist and analyst Flynn Remedios - editor of IndiaNewsNetwork.IN who authored the report, "We have arrived at these findings after collecting data from various sources - Google Trends, Twitter Trends, Facebook searches, Twitter searches, mobile service providers, data usage both on broadband, mobile and landline internet and several other social media platforms and sources." Arshi Khan recently shot topless for Hollywood director Andrew S Randolph and nude for fashion photographer Lynn Baxter. Her bikini, semi-nude, art-nude and glamour photographs were downloaded over 8 lakh times during this period in the entire Asian region, the report says. In the entire Asian region (excluding China for which data is not easily available), Arshi Khan was the most searched and downloaded among Bollywood personalities, followed by Kareena Kapoor, Katrina Kaif and Deepika Padukone.

Kangana Ranaut, Sherlyn Chopra, Alia Bhatt, Anushka Sharma, Jacqueline Fernandez, Ayaan Ali, Reham Khan, Sunny Leone and some Tamil actresses among others were among the trending personalities from Bollywood in Pakistan. Arshi Khan has a huge fan following in Pakistan - her family resides there and 60 per cent of her Twitter followers hail from the same country. She is also reportedly doing a reality show "Arshi Ka Swayamvar" on a popular Pakistani general entertainment channel (GEC).
