64 Netaji Subhas Chadra Bose files declassified

Kolkata, Sep 18 (PTI) West Bengal government today declassified 64 files relating to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose with much fanfare in the presence of his family members who have been demanding that information on the freedom fighter, kept confidential till now, should be made public.

The files were displayed in glass cascades in Kolkata Police museum here.

The Commissioner of Kolkata Police Surajit Kar Purakayastha and some family members of Netaji were present at the function.

Of the 64 files, 55 were with Kolkata Police while another nine were with the state police. There are a total of 12,744 pages in these files.

The police commissioner handed over a DVD containing the files in digitised format to the family members of Netaji.
