Six killed in Rajasthan road accident

Jaipur, (IANS) Six women were killed and seven other persons injured when a jeep hit a truck near Rajasthan's Chittorgarh district on Friday, police said.

The accident occurred around 6 a.m. The speeding jeep carrying women passengers on a pilgrimage hit a parked truck from behind. The driver was also injured.

Five women lost their lives on the spot. One was declared dead later while being treated, a senior police officer from Chittorgarh told IANS on phone.

All the seven injured, including the driver, have been referred to a government hospital in Udaipur, the officer said.
