12th Induction Programme of St. John Technical and Educational Campus held on Monday, 19th August, 2019

The 12th Campus Induction Programme for the First Year students of St. John Technical and Educational Campus was held on Monday, 19th August, 2019 at 11:00 am. The programme was attended by 410 students admitted to the technical degree and diploma programmes in St. John College of Engineering and Management and St. John Institute of Pharmacy and Research

The programme commenced with the Campus Prayer, the Universal Prayer for Peace followed by the Saraswati Vandana along with lighting of the traditional samai. The campus video showcased the development of the campus infrastructure from 2008 and the various activities involving Management, Faculty, Staff and Students. Movie clippings from ‘Lakshya’ were played to encourage and motivate the students to plan their academic career with commitment and dedication.

The Chairman of Aldel Education Trust, Hon. Mr. Albert W. D’Souza, welcomed the Chief Guest, Rt. Rev. Bishop of Mangalore, Peter Paul Saldanha and felicitated him with a bouquet and memento along with the Secretary of Aldel Education Trust, Hon. Mrs. Elvina D’Souza, and members of the Trust, Hon. Mrs. Elaine D’Souza Buthello and Hon. Mr. Aldridge D’Souza.

Hon. Mr. Albert W. D’Souza addressed the fresher students and inspired them to combat the challenges in their career ahead. He also appreciated them for choosing St. John and making the right decision and explained to them the uniqueness of the Campus.

Deputy Campus Director and Principal of St. John Institute of Pharmacy and Research, Dr. Savita Tauro and Principal of St. John College of Engineering and Management, Dr. G. V. Mulgund congratulated students for securing admissions to professional programmes and encouraged and motivated them to pursue their dream careers.

Senior students, Mr. Joshua Gomes from SE Comps and Ms. Rachel Thomas from S. Y. B. Pharm. shared their experiences on campus during the last academic year with the fresher students and welcomed the students.

Hon. Mr. Aldridge D’Souza introduced the Chief Guest. Rt. Rev. Bishop of Mangalore, Peter Paul Saldanha then addressed the gathering. He appreciated the efforts of the Management in setting up state-of-the-art infrastructure and the faculty and staff for their dedication. He inspired students with his words of wisdom and encouraged them to work diligently and sincerely to achieve their goals. He congratulated the entire team of the St., John Technical and Educational Campus for their commitment to the field of education.

The programme was anchored by Second Year Engg. students Yash Patil and Arathy Pillai and the vote of thanks was proposed by Mr. Ronald Laban, Faculty, SJCEM, followed by the National Anthem.
