Mumbai, December 27: “Peace, Love and harmony are the pillars of Thiya community. This community follows the principles of Brahma Shri Narayana Guru. In this juncture, remembering the founders of this association and honoring the achievers of this community is our responsibility and it is supportive for the development of our community. We feel proud by having Mr Chandrashekhar Belchada as the 5th president of this association. We hope and wish that our association will celebrate 75th anniversary under his capable president ship. An Association is like a crown to the community. The members are the pearls of that crown. When the pearls glitter, the whole community will shine bright.” Said Jayakrishna A Shetty, an industrialist.

The 72nd aniversary of Thiya Samaj was celebrated on last Sunday at Shri Guru Narayana Auditorium of Billawa Bhavan, Santacruz. Jayakrishna A Shetty was the chief guest of the programme.

The programme was grandly celebrated under the presidentship of Chandrashekhar R Belchada. Latha Jayaram Shetty-from Bunts Sangha Mumbai, Usha Hegde from Shtree Shakthi Mahila Mandali Thane, Bola Ravi K Pujary from Tulu-Kannada Welfare Association, Kamote New-Bombay, Ananda D Shetty Yekkaru from regional committee of Bunts Sangha, Rohidas S Bangera the executive president of Trust committee, Sudhakar Uchil and Ramesh N Ullal were present at the dais.

Dharmapal U Devadiga–the president of Vishwa Tulu Okkuta, Padmanabha Sasihithlu-the Rashtriya Bhooshana Award Winner, theatre artist Prathima Bangera. The achievers of Thiya community Jaya C Salian, sunil Kumaran, Gopala Salian, Thonse Lajar Kotian, Narayana Salian, L Babu, The editor of “Thiya Belaku” Shridhar S Suvarna were honored by the guests.

The guests and recipients of honor expressed their views. During the occasion, Shankar C Salian, Advocate B K Sadashiva, Narayana Suvarna, Chandrashekhar K B, Mohan B M, Padmini Kotekar, Babu T Bangera, Appunji Bangera and others were present. Madhava Suvarna Ullala, Kuthpady Ramachandra M Ganiga, B Muniraja Jain Ajila, Shimanthur Chandrahasa Suvarna, K Shankara Suvarna Khar, Ashok Kukyan Sasihithlu, Dr U Dhananjay Kumar, Harry R Sequeira, Karunakara Kaup, Kajal Kundar Sasihithlu and others were present.

At the beginning “haladi-kumkum” programme was conducted by Divya R Kotian. Sujatha S Uchil, Chandra M Suvarna, and Rajani A Suvarna assisted. “Oikla Aavandinakulu” Tulu drama was performed by Abhinaya Mantapa group, Mumbai.

Programme was started after offering pooja to Bhagavathi and Brahma Shree Narayana Guru. Yashavanthi Uchil sang the prayer; Vishvanatha U K welcomed and delivered the introductory speech. Ishwar M L and Chandra M Suvarna introduced the guests. Divija Chandrashekhar, Harsha Chandrashekhar and Bhaskar Suvarna Sasihithlu compered the programme. Prathima Bangera proposed the vote of thanks.
